Street Smart Launch
Friday 17 May is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). It is also the day we officially launch step 1 of our new campaign, Street Smart.
We know that hate crimes have increased nationally against members of the LGBTQ+ community. We also know that not everyone will report it. We want to do something about this on a local level, initially by providing the LGBTQ+ community with a tool for reporting their experiences.
Funded by the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner Community Safety Fund, and facilitated by Trade, the aim of this project is to get a true and clearer picture of hate crime in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and the impact it has on the LGBTQ+ community.
Whether it was verbal or physical abuse, intimidation or threats of violence/sexual assault/blackmail – they all matter. Wherever the incident took place, we want to hear from you.
If you have experienced any of the incidents mentioned, follow the link to report it/them.
If you have multiple experiences, please report them separately.

Remember this is only step 1, there’s more to come. Keep your eyes peeled for updates!
