Nigel currently works in Medical Education and manages the Undergraduate Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham that provides teaching to University Of Birmingham's medical students and trainee physician associates. He also works with his Post Graduate colleagues in supporting the delivery of teaching to junior doctors.
Previously to this role, Nigel has volunteered and worked in HIV/sexual health promotion for over 28 years. Beginning volunteering at Leicester Lesbian and Gay line in the late 1980's and has worked at Aled Richards Trust/Terrace Higgins Trust in Bristol during the 1990's as Gay Men's Health Co-ordinator, before moving onto manage Healthy Gay Life in Birmingham for 12 years.
