A huge welcome to 2 new members of staff

Sunday, 10th January 2021

We are please to introduce you to two of the latest additions to the Trade staff team.

Paul Foxon has joined the team from November 2020 as the Counselling Service Manager and Christian Neckles joined the team in January 2021 as Health Promotion Worker.

You can find out more about them below.

Paul Foxon - Counselling Service Manager

What do you do at Trade?

I have been employed as the Counselling Manager at Trade since November 2020 but have volunteered here as a counsellor since 2016.

What does your role entail?

I manage the day to day running of the counselling service at Trade, as well as organise volunteer counsellor training, completing assessments and making sure that we are meeting the needs of our clients at every level.

What elements do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy meeting all clients that we have the privilege of meeting through our service, and enabling and empowering them through talking therapies to be able to support them in their life challenges. I equally enjoy seeing their growth and development from being to the end of both clients and volunteers.

Work-side, what are the kind of things you like to do?

I like to cook and watch movies.

And what about the things to dislike?

I dislike inequality and power differences.

How can someone contact you?

I'm available by email on PaulF@tradesexualhealth.com

Christian Neckles - Health Promotion Worker

What does your role entail?

This role entails a wide range of tasks and responsibilities that enables us to continue to deliver our vital services to LGBT+ and wider under-represented communities across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. I will be dealing with sexual health enquiries, managing the community engagement and testing teams, facilitating sessional groups and delivering campaigns out in the community.

What made you want to work for Trade?

I have worked in various sectors but never felt fulfilled in any of them. The first lockdown gave me time to re-evaluate my values. I applied to work with Trade as I decided I wanted to focus my energy into a person-centred work environment that delivers services to the LGBT+ community.

Work-aside, what are the kind of things you like to do?

Outside of work, I like to socialise with friends and go to the gym…but this has been put on hold due to COVID.

And what about things you dislike?

I dislike ignorant people who aren’t open to having discussions and educating themselves on social issues...and I dislike cheese and milk.
