New project: Staying Connected

Thursday, 14th May 2020

Thanks to the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation's Coronavirus Support Fund, we are now able to offer a range of activities for LGB&T individuals living across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland with a variety of online-led activities to support with the strain on mental health that the current lockdown has been having on a number of individuals during these uncertain times. The weekly sessions will aim to provide peer support and to learn new things, as well as connect with new and existing members of the community.

These sessions are also open to all volunteers at Trade to as a way of continuing support for them during this time.

We currently have a programme of weekly activities which are available for you to sign up to. These will take place on Tuesday evenings from 5pm and will be hosted on Zoom, with a member of the Trade team leading on each activity.

Please note, places are limited to 8 participants per session and sign up is required. Resources for the majority of activities will be provided unless otherwise stated.

Weekly group drop-in

Along with the weekly activities, there will also be a regular group drop-in session every Thursday evening between 5-6pm open to anybody who just needs someone to talk to, hosted by a Trade member of staff. Dates and details of access can be found below.

One-to-one drop-in

If a group drop-in isn't for you and you wanted to speak to somebody one-to-one, we can also provide opportunities for this as part of our Zoom drop-in sessions that happen every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 12-2pm. This can be accessed here.

From here, we can also signpost you into our counselling service if that's something that you wanted to explore further, as this fund has also enabled us to equip our counsellors to be able to provide counselling remotely either over the phone or via a video calling platform.
