Hands on at Trade - Black History Month

Monday, 3rd October 2016

Black History Month was first celebrated in the United Kingdom in 1987. This October brings another year of events in Leicester and across the country, hoping to inspire, encourage reflection and engage you in creating history there and then. Black History. Inclusive History. Peaceful History.

This year is dedicated to theme of policy, practice and social justice and focused on celebration of life and work of South African Social Rights activist - Desmond Tutu, who frequently took part in discussion of homosexuality and belief within the community.

You can check programme of events in Leicester online at visitleicester.info/blackhistorymonth as well as joining us for dedicated Hands on at Trade this Thursday 6pm - 7.30pm where we engage in usulal tasks but this time discuss why have Black History Month? Discussion will evolve post listening to bold statement from current media personality.

Additionally don't forget to register for Sexuality, Gender Identity and Belief: The Leicester Approach conference here: bit.ly/SGIBTLA

Happy Black History Month!
